From blank canvas to finished masterpiece - my progress in the art studio, this week.
This week, I launched my new collection! It was a very busy week, listing all the products on my website, as well as the prints. It’s also the last week of the school holidays. Lesson learned! I’ll never ever launch a collection at this period. I’ll wait for the end of September or mid-October. It’s hectic and tiring to paint, launch and make sure the children have everything they need to go back to school!
Here it is!!! The last painting of this month’s collection. It’s my favourite one. I finished it just two days before the launch. I’m so happy and proud that I was able to paint a whole collection during the school holidays. I’ve found a schedule that fits my rhythm as an artist and as a mom. HUGE WIN!
I made some good progress on this portrait’s commission too! As I was saying last week, now, that I’ve finished this month’s collection, i’m reopening places for portrait commissions. My initial idea for this portrait was a purple background, a mix of their two favourite colours, red and blue, but I finally went for a quiet green, which goes both with the red and the blue clothes.
I also finished this small piece. I always have small linen squares in my studio, to use all the paint that’s left from bigger pieces. It’s so much fun, and they make wonderful abstracts. Three of them were chosen by Liz Lidgett to feature in the summer edition of the Arts to Hearts magazine! I reached out to a gallery to exhibit them. I’m manifesting a quick positive reply!
Meanwhile, I’m also preparing my New York exhibition with Superfine. It will be from the 14th to the 17th of September at Iron 23. I will be in booth 43. I’ve still got some free tickets, so if you want to see my new collection in person, reply to this email and I’ll send some your way!
Till next time, have fun!
Much Love 💕
